Question - What can students own, buy or carry on them?
Answer:
- Weapons: When among their fellow students, Agents are not permitted to carry guns or sharp objects. In fact the school has a rather firm set of rules regarding weapons on campus that, while it might seem silly, apply to the agents as well. Weapons can be possessed by agents /only/ within designated areas, which as during training sessions.
- Equipment: Students may carry other types of equipment on their persons as long as the item is mundane in appearance and is not discovered by a human student. Things such as listening devices have been known to make it into the lunchroom, for example.
- Electronics: Students may carry mundane electronics on their person if that item is permitted by the rules of the campus. Cell phones are forbidden during active class hours, however they are not restricted during free time, such as after school or during lunch breaks. Ipods are common, though the above rule applies to them as well. See the wiki for information regarding special cell phones issued to agents.
- Vehicles: While this may seem contrary, vehicles can only be possessed by agents who have been classed as Machines. This is to ensure that transportation to and from the campus is limited. There are no loopholes permissible in this rule. Humans may possess vehicles that have been searched and cleared by Hoffman Security.
Question - Can Students own special spy equipment?
Answer:
- Specialized Equipment: Agents have access, as they climb in rank, to equipment that would make James Bond proud. Specialized to function under high stress situations, agents are permitted, once they reach Rank 2, to select their own equipment up to $250.00s. This is dealt with ICly. Until rank 2, agents do not possess special or personal equipment.
- Basic Equipment: thinks like handguns, rifles, throwing knives, or listening devices are considered ‘Basic Equipment’. Until Rank two, all equipment is provided by the Organization and is stored in the underground compound. Agents have access to these things, assuming they follow protocol and check these items in and out with security.
Question - What happens is a student gets pregnant?
Answer:
Can this happen? Sure, it could. A school with a restricted student boy will only eventually see it’s fair share of first loves and one night stands however, within the organization there is no room for such delays. Regardless of the agents feelings, religious beliefs, or moral take on the situation, all pregnancies regarding a character enrolled within the school will be eliminated and the agents punished according to the ruling of the board. Agents are expected to not make such petty and unprofessional decisions and the organization protests such behaviors firmly. The school does not turn a blind eye to sex within the dorms, nor do they permit or encourage this behavior.
Question - What happens when Agents are involved in fights with other agents?
Answer:
This is a very very bad idea. Agents are expected to show a professional attitude toward one another and while the organization may view them as tools to be used as needed, the agents themselves are still teenagers and are prone to fits of rage just like any other teens. Should two agents come to blows over a situation, be it mundane or field related, they are both firmly punished by way of the [Insert Name Here], a device that regulates behavior by sending a firm, shock to the central nervous system of the agent. During this time the agents are reported as being ill and remain in isolation cells until their sentence is up.
Question - Do Agents get money?
Answer:
Each week agents receive $50.00 for spending money. This is to not only allow the agents some form of financial freedom (within carefully constructed bounds), but to allow them to learn financial management. Agents need to be able to be responsible with their money. These monetary allowances are also to allow the agent to get things he or she may need while at school such as:
- Personal Hygiene Products
- Casual Clothing
- Entertainment (Movies, Arcade, Etc.)
- Taxi Fair into the City
- Junk Food
Things like basic hygiene supplies are provided by the school (though agents often prefer different brands or scents), school uniforms, and necessary things such as meals, however extras are the responsibility of the agents.
Question - How do covers work in game?
Answer:
Covers are the divisions of the organizations Psychic Unit. Each Agent Class has a specific function within the unit and the teams themselves. Agents are selected for their classes by their natural abilities. Those that are naturally charismatic are placed within the class that tailor their training around gathering information and manipulation, while a character that is a natural in a fight is likely going to be placed within the Class that specializes in neutralizing threats. By creating teams that consist of each Class, it allows the agents to work together to overcome any surprises that a mission might throw at them.
In Game: Players have the freedom to select their Agent Class at the beginning of CG. Players should read carefully on each class and be sure to pay close attention to the suggested skills.
Question - How much freedom do Agents have?
Answer:
Agents have freedom, however they are never truly free. Like with most secret societies and organizations, once someone is taken into the Hoffman Organization, they are a member for life. that means that while the agents are free to grow up and seek out careers, and even move out of new York, they are never free of the organizations power, then again, being a member of hoffman is not exactly a terrible thing if you are willing to overlook their paranoia.
As agents within the psychic unit, there is a very strict concept of freedom. The students are free to develop social relationships, and join clubs, allowing them to experience natural parts of development, however they are expected to be prepared to spring into action at any moment. They are also expected to take their training to heart and above all else be able to separate themselves from their emotions. Sometimes acquiring an artifact or taking down a paranormal creature means that the agent will have to make choices that might be hard, sacrificing an innocent life for the lives of many more, or leaving a fellow agent behind to secure their target.
Even more difficult is the concept of their lives. They are watched carefully while within the campus grounds as well as tracked when off the grounds on personal time. The vehicles of the agents that own them are constantly tracked via GPS, and agents on missions are tracked in the same way. The campus curfew is strictly enforced and punishment for the agents can range from a very painful slap on the wrist to the threat 9and occasionally the action) of neutralization. Being an agent is to know that you are forever being watched, that there are spy's all around you, and that you are as replaceable as AA batteries.
