When beginning the stats potion of CG players will first enter the Attributes room. In this room players should take into deep consideration where their characters strengths and weaknesses rest. No one is perfect all around, so the attributes should represent this.
Characters have nine Attributes that represent their innate talents and capabilities. Every action a character takes begins with an Attribute. Lifting a heavy object requires Strength, puzzling out the provenance of a rare relic requires Intelligence, inspiring others requires Charisma, and so forth. Attributes are rated from one(1) to five(5) dots. A rating of 2 is considered average, while a rating of 5 represents the pinnacle of human capability. Powerful animals or monsters might possess Attribute ratings greater than 5.
- [Agility] is grace, quickness, kinesthetic sense, and hand-eye coordination. A high Agility gives a hunter an edge with skills that involve movement, fine control, aiming, and so on.
- [Alertness] lets you observe and understand what’s going on around you. A high Alertness catches the faint EVP on a tape recording, knows when someone’s lying to your face, or spots the flash of a strangers eyes that just isn't right. The flip side means you don’t see the ghost before it shoves its hand into your chest, or you trip over a tree root while trying to cut across the campus in a hurry.
- [Strength] is brawn, and how toned it might be. A high Strength lets a character kick down doors, throw solid punches, or other displays of physical power. A low Strength makes carrying a suitcase up a flight of stairs trouble tiresome.
- [Intelligence] is thinking, reasoning, and remembering. A high Intelligence makes you bright, inventive, and capable of sorting out complex information. Otherwise, jigsaw puzzles are stumpers and forget working the ritual circuit.
- [Vitality] measures toughness and health. A character with high Vitality is hard to take down, and even harder to keep down; he can drink like a frat boy, attend football practice the next day, and take hits that would lay flat an ordinary guy. Low Vitality types wanna take plenty of Vitamin-C and best not enter any drinking contests.
- [Willpower]combines grit and force of personality. If you’ve got a high score in Willpower, resisting intimidation, torture, and hardship might actually happen. You also might convince someone to do what you want through sheer charisma. A low Willpower makes you more susceptible to manipulations and suggestions from attractive members of the opposite sex.
Derived Attribute:
- [Life Points] are Vitality + Willpower, taking the maximum results of both dice. Life Points track how much of a world of hurt your hunter is in.
Attributes: System Notes
There are no point pools in this CG, instead players are expected to be mature and realistic when selecting attribute levels. Players may not have more than 2 level 4's. If 2 4's are found on the list, players must be sure to have at least one level 2. For no reason will 5's be approved in CharGen.
IOU System:
While there are no preset point limits in CG, players should be caution and think carefully while setting stats. All points spent in CG will be added to the characters Debt, which will be paid back during the course of RP as the player builds up XP. Only once the Debt is completely repaid can the player begin advancing their character. This system is to insure that players are active in social and TP RP before they can advance forward as well as to allow the player time to feel their character out and better determine the characters IC role.
